Reverend Dr. David L. Stallion Sr. was born and raised in Phenix City, Alabama to David and Beatrice Stallion. He accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of ten and joined the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Phenix City, Alabama. He was educated in the public schools of Phenix City. After graduating from high school, he’s held various positions in the workforce. His leadership positions has provided him the opportunity to receive various management and leadership training from the Chattahoochee Valley Community College, Phenix City, Alabama; Foxboro Training Institute, Boston, Massachusetts; Data Color International School, Charlotte, North Carolina; and the University of Alabama, Huntsville, Alabama.
In 1995, Rev. Dr. Stallion was blessed to marry Tammy R. Barker and they share one daughter, Sanquita, two sons, Tyler and David Jr. and four grandchildren, Jaylan, Jordan, Justin and Jayniah. Rev. Dr. Stallion pursued secondary employment at the Faith Tabernacle Community Church in 1999, serving as Music Director, bringing over 25 years of Gospel Music Ministry experience. He accepted the call of God in his life in 2001, to preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He was licensed by Dr. Roy G. Plummer in 2002 and ordained in 2004.
He began to serve as Youth Pastor and was appointed Assistant Pastor in 2005. In preparation for the call, Rev. Dr. Stallion completed a comprehensive study of Theology, Bible Doctrine, Expository/topical Sermons and Practical Ministry at Frontline Theological Seminary of Columbus, Georgia, received an ordination and served as an assistant dean and instructor for the institute. He attended ITC of Atlanta, Georgia earning a certificate of Theology and credits toward continuing his education. He has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry and Master of Divinity in Discipleship and Church Ministry from Frontline Theological Seminary of Columbus, Georgia. He has also been awarded a Doctor of Divinity Degree from Frontline Theological Seminary.
His latest accomplishments was completing comprehensive studies and receiving a Dean of Christian Leadership Schools certificate through the Sunday School Publishing Board of the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. He is also a certified CLS instructor and Fourth District President of the GMBC of Georgia, Inc. Rev. Dr. Stallion’s calling and election is sure as his gifts have made room for him in God’s kingdom. He has preached and taught a host of revivals, worship services, Bible and Sunday school studies etc.
Rev. Dr. Stallion served as a volunteer for the United Way of Chattahoochee Valley as an allocations committee member. He served as the Vice President of the Minister’s Division for the Auburn District Missionary Baptist Association and now serves as the Assistant Moderator of the Original Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Association. Upon Rev. Dr. Stallion’s return home to the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of Phenix City, Alabama where he was reinstated, licensed and ordained by Rev. Bernard Rose, he was called and installed to the Bethesda Baptist Church of Opelika, Alabama as Pastor, in September 2008. On November 15, 2015, Rev. Dr. Stallion was called to the office of Pastor at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, Columbus, GA.
